Writing ClassesDorothy Spirus, InstructorSpirus, a former magazine editor, has been teaching writing classes through both the City of Irvine and City of Newport Beach Community Services for over a decade.
Creative Writing
Whether you're in the theatre or in the classroom, if Dorothy's in charge, there will be laughs. And, in this case, learning, too! Get started on that short story or book idea. Work on your own project or write an assigned writing exercise. It’s up to you. Spirus will help you shape your ideas and evaluate your writing. Open to all levels of experience. Class may be repeated. Send an email, if you'd like more information. We'll be reading and discussing the book "Best American Short Stories of 2009." Testimonial from a continuing student: "If you are serious about writing, this workshop will really help you grow. Whether you are a rank beginner or an accomplished writer, Dorothy Spirus has the method and professional skill to take you to a higher level. The class delves into the heart of what it means to be a writer. It's great fun, but serious, and will change the way you read, think, and write." – D.L.Sims
